The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 很喜欢。用影像记录，用声音记录，都是保留与传承，是不同时空的自我的对话，是在倾听他人的同时反刍着自己，在疗愈他人时的自我疗愈。文本密集，鸡汤味稍浓但没有说教口吻，华金和小男主演技棒极了。
随着这个孩子，一起前进一起思考，是多么温馨有趣的事。

充满了哲思的童言童语，学会倾听去化解家庭关系的摩擦与代际，黑白影调特别纯粹，镜头下的美帝竟有欧陆的美，小演员很出彩，文艺独立电影的调调。

译名完全是胡来，还不如翻译成"活着"……抑郁父母版的Frances Ha。那种完全没有在care要讲什么故事的态度，被这个小男孩一搅和，产生了一些正向的化学反应。其实看完之后你也不知道到底讲了啥，不用怀疑，就是因为啥都没讲。我一直在想，如果小男孩的角色换成是一个神经质、喜怒无常、做作，但又偶尔可以充当哲学家的成年人(年轻人)，大家是否还能看得下去？(把所有的parenting置换成情感关系中的相处)。让鲍姆巴赫或者格雷格来拍，就是《美国情人》或者《伯德小姐》No.2? 本以为会在虚实结合上做文章，最后还是割裂的。

因为电影院里只有我和朋友，于是我们就肆无忌惮地大声讨论了：“刚刚他在说谁？”“这个matu…是谁？”“谁死了？”“啥？他不是死了吗？”“我的理解是……，是这样的吗？”🤣
文本和听觉结合，表达人物喜欢陷于自己的世界，而孤独的大人与另一个独孤的小孩相处，表现了游离在大人世界之外的孩子们对于爱和理解的渴求。孩子思考自己的人生命题，这个角度真好，但除了两位的表演，实在看不进去
