The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 可以拿最佳剧本奖了，文戏武拍很精彩……七个人因思想受到审判，法官输了，被告也不算赢。
剧本和剪辑确实漂亮。通过庭审过程中的不断闪回，逐步勾勒了和平抗议如何变成了暴力冲突，没有浪费笔墨在还原冲突本身上。
最后的庭审群像仿佛油画
铭记一句话，解释了美国官僚政府理应被民众认清的地位：

不过群众对抗体制的“二元论”类型片真的是完美戳我个人的G点
美国的强大在于，即使有这么多的不同意见、质疑、批判，国家的某个组织也不会禁止它发出声音，所以，究竟是在单一的声音中看世界更好，还是在扬抑同在的声音中看世界更好？说回电影，导演选择用大量蒙太奇剪辑手法，把一个较为复杂的、多个利益群体、多种诉求的抗议故事，较为简单又诙谐幽默地给观众叙述了出来，演员的表演也可以，其实这种电影，拍出来就4星了。

本片要抗争的东西我感觉离七君子原本的诉求还是有点区别的，他们原本的诉求是反越战，但是本片实际争取的是发声权、抗争的是政治打压。
难得不枯燥的历史剧，有趣的角色、小团体和法庭戏都是看点
很有意思的群戏，电影背后的故事也很有趣 ，索金和斯皮尔伯格对于现在和60年代的对比确实也挺恰当的。川总对美国的影响居然类似于越战，必须名垂青史了。

艾伦索金用了一个扎实的剧本来借古讽今，借此片指着懂王鼻子开骂。可惜对于各方立场的标签化处理让整个事件缺乏真实感。过于依靠台词推动也暴露了这位大编剧拙略的导演能力。6.5/10
